Join us for our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner on March 1, 2022, at 5:00pm. We will be serving pancakes with various toppings, breakfast sausage, and drinks as we prepare our hearts for the Lenten season.

You might be asking, “Why do we eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday?” Traditionally Shrove Tuesday was considered the last chance for a spot of indulgence and to use up food that couldn’t be eaten before Lent’s 40 days of fasting. Shrove is derived from shrive, which refers to the confession of sins as a preparation for Lent.

We will play Mardi Gras music and have a photo booth set up, with plenty of masks, beads, and crowns for everyone! The kids will have an opportunity to create an Alleluia Banner that will be “buried” or hidden as we put away our Alleluia hymns during the Lenten season. We will bring the Alleluia Banners out on Easter Sunday and display them in the sanctuary!
